Following persistent investigation by Knoxville Police Department Field Operations officers who responded to a late-night robbery at a N. Broadway gas station, 33-year-old Dustin McAlister was arrested and charged with aggravated robbery.
At around 10 p.m. on Sunday, August 11, 2024, KPD officers were dispatched to the Citgo at 4801 N. Broadway Avenue. It was reported that an unknown masked man had entered the gas station, threatened the clerk with a hammer and took money from the cash register.
Investigation conducted at the scene revealed that the suspect had left the scene in a black Honda Pilot, which was later located by officers canvassing the area in a residential parking lot in the 2700 block of Woodrow Drive. A hammer matching the description of the one used in the robbery was spotted inside of the car, as well as a purple latex glove.
After continued investigation, officers located McAlister and recovered the money that was taken during the robbery inside of an apartment on Woodrow Drive.
McAlister was taken into custody and charged with aggravated robbery and resisting arrest.
